You are planning on using two, just the wavebox pump is good enough. The reason i use the 6201 on Anthony's tank because i need someone to test my new theory on (j/K) fortunately it work and work very well.

If your tank is acrylic, i highly recommend to do the external box just like the way i did it with my new tank. There is no reason to add two box inside the tank when you have other option. One box on each side is better then two pump side by side. Make sure the box is big enough for you to load the pump through the top. My dual box is 6x12x14 deep, the original is 4.5x4.5x11 or 12 i think. Your should be 6x6x14 deep, the measurement is for the inside box not outside....

first of all, the 6301 should push more than 20,000 gph. Second, I will be doing some testing on this tank just to get the box configuration right in shape and size and see how the Tunze does. I willalso test controlling it so that i have a decent amount of data when I have my next tank built.

FYI a wavebox does not mandate a braced tank, as long as it's built well.

Jarhead - my tank is glass so I don't have the luxury of drilling for an overflow now as the panels are already tempered. Really really wish I could but its just not in the cards. Next time around. Damn it for always wanted something new once you already got one.

From what I understand 1" starphire glass is already overbuilt for my tank. Can anyone help confirm that for me?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the tank manufacturer to see what they suggest. Guess they will have the last say on if a brace is necessary.
