finally beginning my 480g 5'x5'x30" SPS Reef Tank

Brain looks sweet though. I would hook up the usual probes, auto-top off with float switch, and a water sensor for the floor. You can email Curt at Neptune about his add-on for attaching remote sensors.

Then you can program it to email you or your tank sitter if there is a power outage (need extra power adapter plugged into a UPS), leak, or other out-of-state condition. And you will be able to log-in to check tank stats and view graphs as well.

For large tank literature my favorites are:
The Reef Aquarium Vol3 by Charles Delbeek and Jullian Sprung.
Ultimate Marine Aquariums by Michael Paletta.

Thanks bart. I will see what i can figure out and I will get in touch with Curt. I know that I would spend all day figuring out every little feature if I had it inhand but now i need to motivate someone else to do it for me. Hopefully i can get another reef junkie friend of mine to troubleshoot it for me and get it up and running.

I also think I'm going to get someone to install a webcam in front of the tank so that I can monitor it that way as well, at least I will feel better that way.

Thanks for the info paul... your making great headway on your tank, congrats.

btw Jonathan, this is what I was talking about when I referred to the glass separation in-between the giant tank in Monte Carlo. You can only tell the difference by the sand buildup at the bottom. The tank is over two stories high, pretty impressive.

One side is reef fish and anemones and the other is sharks, turtles, and large schooling fish.

the tank's width is a good 40 ft and the length is another 30 ft, at least. How's THAT for a dream tank. Could just go scuba diving all the time in your own home, if it fits.

can't imagine. its a seemless transition though and somehow the rockwork matches up perfectly. Looking at the tank its almost impossible to tell the difference. I guess some lucky diver spends A LOT of time in that tank.

Tom that sucks on your Visa. Hopefully you can get things worked out. Johnathan mentioned and attorney. That is very good solution. Good luck..

Oh that sucks Tom! Im sorry! I was soo intersted in seeing how cool it looks finished! Maybe we could all potitation the government and get them to override it? lol

I hope I was included in one of the two people you can trust. Just kidding. If you need me to babysit anything in my tank I would be more than happy to. Also your corals would look great and not cost money which is always good with this hobby. Also if you want me to set up the Aqua Controler I think I could do it and if not ernie could. Let me know what you need. Also you MH look sick on my tank I cant wait to get my corals back in it.

paul - pretty sick isn't it.

eric - I have just switched attorney's and have renewed high hopes.

Kevin - Thanks man, I'm working hard at finding a solution. I want this thing done more then anyone else, trust me.

Jonathan - lol, only since the patriot act is in place. :D

Henry - Absolutely you are. I will try calling you again later today to see if you can help set that controller up. Make sure you send me some pictures of your tank so I can check it out, looking forward to seeing how you make out. Good luck bud.

Good luck man. From previous work related experiences I have really made it point for legal advice on any big decisions.

switching attorneys is a good idea. It's amazing the results a well motivated attorney can get, and unfortunately, most you meet are really more interested in billing than working.

Isn't that the truth. I guess you have slackers in every field doesn't matter how much money they make.

Thanks. that's exactly the experience I have had. I'm happy that I have switched. Plus my new attorney is considered the best immigration attorney in the US. So that should help a little :D
