Finally got it!!

After checking to see if the cute little baby barberi lionfish was still available every day, for days now, I finally took the leap and bought it. I am so excited, I have been wanting this fish for a long time. It's one step closer to completing my collection of dwarf lions. I have antennata, zebra, and a fuzzy. Now I just need a mombasa, and fu manchu. I'll put pictures up when I get it, probably thurs.

Did you get the fish on DD? That fish looks healthy and is a great size, and you'll get to see it mature...it's very cool to see their eyes go red. IMHO, you won't be sorry you got a barberi, there's something about them that I really like. Can't wait for pix!

Yep, that's the one. I can't beleive nobody snatched it up sooner at that size. I figured I better jump before they shut down the waters in Hawaii.

I'm glad you got it, I was just about to buy it today!

BTW Greg, I still need to post a picture of the large "mombassa" I got from DD. I'll try to get it posted soon for an ID. It doesn't look right to me, but it's a great fish.

I like getting fish at the juvenile stage. It is so much more rewarding watching them grow. I have been looking for the right combination of items from dd so that I could get the 225 free shipping. And of course, I will be at work tomorrow while my wife acclimates it. I'll try to get pictures by Friday so that it has some time to relax without the lights on.

OK Fib...you've now crossed over to the "dark side", so it's time to change your avatar from "prey item" to "predator"... ;)

Well, bad news, the package is stuck in memphis due to mechanical troubles. That makes 2 times in a row that happening from divers den. I hate fed ex! Dd needs to use ups! I have never had issues with ups.

It will be here in 5 minutes. Last time I only lost one fish. But the stress it puts on thm is what I worry about. I hope all goes well!

They said they prepare for 72 hour delivery time, but it was still pretty cold. If all is healthy and good, I will be happy. I know they stand behind there stuff, and I think it is fed ex that should pay, not divers den.

We noticed that too, Fib...high salinity in the shipping water, and like you said, it was about 1.030. It seems a bit "backward" to be keeping new fish especially at that salinity. I'd think it would be lower, unless DD does it so that the fish in question will never be going UP in salinity once they get "home".

As for temp, I don't really think I'd worry too much there as most lions are pretty resilient in terms of temp, IME. Oddly enuff, altho I KNOW what we run our bluefin tank at (63*F), I still say "SHEESH... that's COLD" whenever I put my hand into the tank.

Actually, once added, it looks great, great colors even with the lights off. We'll see with the lights on what happens. Soon comes the fun part, the weaning process. ;)

Here are a couple pictures. I am terrible with a camera so I adjusted the photo's to look as accurate as I could. I need a better lens.
The picture of the lion I bought didn't have red eyes yet, but they look pretty red now.
