Finally got it!!

Nice to have a group of people you can split shipping with. How is it being a reefer in Alaska?

sorry to go OT but its nice not having to use chillers but it sucks to not be able to order anything online with shipping ramped up 1000%... also some items (wet and dry) are like twice the amount they are online. thinking of moving to lower 48 when i grad HS (prob go to college in HI or FL) so i can get some benefits lol.

Fib- nice eyes!

I don't mind OT, I was kinda wondering how that would be up there too. Shipping may be expensive up there, but you guys make way more than most of us down here. There are some other benefits to living up there. From Sarah Palin's Alaska to Florida!! What a trip.

$1300 a month on average dividend is a nice check to recieve, blew this past years on fish stuff :P i have been hearing the average pay is greater in AK but i bet we have more unemployed people here lol (not good). i looked up to Sarah until she turned into a celebrity, now i feel shes giving alaska a bad rep. JMHO.

FYI its nice to have snow (which is really laxed right now :'( ) and be able to go to homer or seldovia and check out the tide pools. went to seldovia 2 years ago and i was drooling! anemones and corals galore! found some eels and crabs and other inverts in the tidal zones also, thinking of trying an Alaska tank down the road. we need a BA public aquarium here though. the seward sea life center is ok but its in seward, off the beaten trail for half the population.

P.S. the average alaskan doesnt have enough money to dog sled on a glacier or have more than 1 house. "Sarah Palin's Alaska" is a 'rich mans' veiw of Alaska.

enough with political slams, dont want this thread to get block ;)

Finally got my wife to take some good pictures.
Greg, which one should be my avatar??

very nice! you didn't ask me, but I'd crop that last pic in a bit, and use that as your avatar.

A little update, the barberi is still doing great. It hasn't taken food from a feeding stick yet, but has no problem taking frozen pe mysis. So, this should be another success story. So far, this fish seems to have a cooler personality than any of my other lions, which is exciting because I love them too. :celeb1:

Now you see why I like ours so much...they do have a cool way about them. I'm glad yours is eating for you (ours loves PE from the water column as well).

Definitely, ours even takes pe from around the tank off the ground. It's funny because it does the whole matador thing around both sides of it, almost completely circling the pe from both sides, turning its head and eyes as far as it can to each side, and then sucks it up.
On another note, I have been noticing both the red fin wasp fish and the other dwarf lions have been eating quit a bit of green flake food when I feed my tank. Do yours do that?

They might eat flake, but we haven't tried feeding it to them. I've had a dwarf fuzzy that ate flake way back in the old daze.
