After almost 2 years I finally have my carpet/clown pair. Thanks to to RC and everyone that gave me advice! So far it is doing pretty good but has not attached after being in the tank for about 4 hours. My female has already taken to it which I was not expecting! Here are some questions and pics.

Couple questions/pics:

1. Since it has not attached I only have my return pump running. I had all flow off for almost 2 hours but didn't want to leave the tank stagnant for much longer. The flow is fairly low, maybe 300gph and the nem isn't really being blown around at all. I don't want to leave my powerheads off all night but I also don't want the nem to blow around in the dark. What to do here?

2. Just before posting I saw my female grab the backside of the oral disc and literally pull the nem back towards the rocks. I turned the lights off and she went to her corner with her bo. I don;t want to mess with the nem but should I move it to rocks in hope that it anchors? Also, the clowns corner is on the opposite side. Should I move the nem over there where they are used to spending their time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! On to the pics:

I would try to move that rock anemone --- look like the rock it is on isn't holding anything up --- don't want them touching.

All of my healthy S. Haddonis buried/attached their foot right away. You are fine leaving your main pump on.

I would not move it towards the clowns area, already sounds like they are picking at it. In fact you may have to separate them.

Also, I would (( can do it tomorrow if not ready )) a water change and run fresh carbon. Could try digging a little hole for its foot, and place it in a cove of rocks. All of mine have their foot in/on the sandbed under a rock.

Thanks for chiming in Todd and for the previous advice. Great idea on digging the hole, will definitely do that! Water is mixing as I type this for a WC tomorrow after work and also have some fresh carbon to add. I am going to go out tomorrow and get some eggcrate or something to provide some relief. I can't believe she took to it so quickly!

Yes the flower nem is easily moved. Posted about whether I should remove it all together earlier but have not checked any replies yet. Been a busy afternoon!!!

Sure thing

One other thing, what lights do you have, and what was it under? Are you acclimating it to your lights? IME, using window screening works great, and really helps them settle in.

Didn't get a catch to reply to your other thread. I have never kept a rock anemone, but have never had good luck mixing a S. Haddoni with an LTA and BTA. In both cases the Haddoni wouldn't settle in until I removed the other anemone.

The nem was under 400W MHs and I have a 4 bulb T5 with individual reflectors and ATI bulbs. I was only going to run 2 bulbs for the next couple of days. Does that sound ok?

Will move the flower, but should I remove it completely? Saw you mention the mixing issue before but totally spaced on the flower I had until the day I bring my hadonni home.

That sounds good. Was it shipped or from an LFS/local reefer?

I would at least move it to the other side of the tank. I would keep a close eye on the Haddoni and if it doesn't settle in I would remove the rock anemone.

I got it from my LFS. I moved the flower last night before bed. I checked on the Haddoni in the middle of the night and it had attached to the rock just above the sandbed so at least it's anchored. I hope I won't have to remove the flower as I really like it but will if necessary.

Absoueltely love this anemone. Watching it move and lift itself around is just so hypnotizing! Thanks again!
