Ya the white balance thing I finally fixed by going into the menu on my Cannon Rebel Xti and hit the manual option on white balance. How that works is you choose a picture you just took. I had one of my tank I used, which was particularly blue. I then hit manually white balance. Then the rest of the tank pictures came out great.

Yes that is a sunset monti in the middle third group of pics.
