Finally got rid of my Yellow Hogfish (Not recommended)

I got this small yellow hogfish about 2 months ago. At that time it was looking cute and my tank had just setup. It was actually my first reef fish of all time :)

As it grew bigger, it started harassing the clowns and I even suspect it has killed at-least 2 fish in my tank. Since last week it had been doing a high speed crash onto my adult clown and it almost passed out a couple of times.

This morning I caught it in the act again and finally pulled out the rock that was hiding it. The little bugger is at the LFS.

I don't recommend this fish at all unless you have other aggressive fish and plenty of room.

They are the devil had one and it was the happiest moment in my life when I found him dried up on my carpet..

I had one in my 150g... model citizen. Then I added two more. Total terror! Removed all three.

Mmmm....I have a 1.5" one that is two days away from finishing qt. Really wondering uf I should add it now. It would be the smallest guy in the tank by far.

Only add if you really really like the looks of the fish and ready to tear apart the tank if you have to take it out.

If you have sps and want something that eats aefw, these are it. Mine ate them like crazy. Never really harassed any other fish either.

Just a quick update for anyone interested. Mine has grown quite fast (a fat 2.5" now). It initially gave the Lubbock wrasse some grief, but it subsided after about a week. Then I added a juv. melanurus wrasse and it would hammer the poor girl. But the melanurus was tough and stood its ground and endured its attacks for for about two weeks before they subsided. Now the tables have turned and if the hogfish looks at the melanurus the wrong way it bears the brunt of the attack.

Based on my observation, it doesn't like other fish that also pick at the rockwork (Lubbock) and it really doesn't like new additions. I may not keep it after I move tanks. I would like to add other fish without the barrage.

I'm surprised that it grew that much in 2 months ... I've had one for years without problems, and it really hasn't grown that much, it's ~3"... I've seen some that were 5-6"

It has a voracious appetite. One time it ate a piece of shrimp so big it could barely breath after.

Its a cool fish just a bit territorial. But my tank is also a bit crowded so that may have something to do with it.
