Finally Moved....except for the tank

Well we have moved into our new house. I got my 50g set up and running, now I have to begin the fun process of transferring everything from the 24g pod at the old house to my 50g up here. Its only like a 10 mile drive so I was just planning on transferring in rubber maid bins. Tested all the parameters in the new tank and everything is perfect. Too perfect. I'll prolly let it run a few more days before I transfer.

Well fish, LR and everything else it transferred. I think I put my snails into shock, they are not moving around very well. I think they'll be fine in a couple of days. I clowns seem to like the additional flow and room to swim. Everything has tto get used to the stonger light, 4 36" VHO's run on an Icecap 660. Running the Reef Octopus 110 NW. Great little skimmer for the price. Actually its pretty big. I need more LR and some snails. All in all I am much happier with the new tank. I am gonna re-setup the Aquapod somewhere in the house as either a Seahorse tank or a QT tank. Still on dial-up until the DSL gets hooked up, either today or tomorrow. Will post pics then.

Ya, snails can take being dry for days and live, they'll be fine...

Talk is cheap, we want pix.... Ok, I want pix I think we done left the building! LOL

Well everything has taken nicely to the change except for my Xenia. They are not happy at all. I don't think they are going to make it. They are all shrivled up and retracted.

Unfortunalty one of my baffles in my sump has come lose so my return pump pulls live sand from it every once in awhile. Any ideas on how to fix this without draining it?

Stopped at Rich's store on Wed and got a peppermint shrimp and a emerald crap. The crap is going to town. I really need some nass snails for my sand bed. Also I need to get some more LR. 22 lbs is not enough for this tank. I think I am going to add about 25-30 more lbs. Will post pics when I get home from work tonight.

Put in a spacer on either side to hole the baffle in place. We did the same thing to Ryans tank when one of his baffles came undone...

cut pieces of acrylic to "wedge" and/or "space" the baffle in place. the flow actoss the sump will want to push the baffle toward the return pump so you simply add a couple of legs to keep it in place.

Ok here we go. It looks bare right now. I need more rock.

Make sure you direct feed that starfish, really your tank isnt mature enough to keep it alive without alot of TLC. For future reference, Id suggest you double check with someone on here or with Rich at Professional Aquatics before you buy livestock.

He came from my nano that was running for almost a year. He has not taken to the move very well, I drip acclimated him for a good 6 hours at least.

They are notorious for being difficult to keep, and often starve because they are so slow to get to food sources. If you make sure you directly feed him, a good long pair of tweezers works well, they tend to do alot better. It is important that they get some algae in their diet as well, so feeding them nori or prepared dried algae strips is a good thing to do.

Went to Rich's shop last night and got 2 new adds. Going back on Wednesday when he gets his order.
