I've been watching my single Thallasia plant for some kind of growth for a while now - it only seems to keep up by producing a new leaf for each leaf that dies off. I received this Turtlegrass plant on March 26th 2003 w/ two leaves and it maintains 3-5 with the maximum length I've seen as about 9". Here's the photo of it after the dust settled from it's planting.
A little while back I noticed an odd translucent rock/shell on the DSB, by the next day, the upper tip had begun to show signs of green!.... It's a couple inches away from the parent Thallasia plant, so I'm hopeful that there are more under the sand that'll be coming out soon - I've really been wanting more, but have had a hard time getting ahold of any. Here's the photo journal of it's growth to date.
So far.... So good...
Unfortunatly, my Shoal grass in this tank/DSB isn't doing as well. It hasn't filled in, as it did before, after the last harvesting I did to populate my primary display. Conversely, the Primary display has a very nice patch of Shoal grass that's quadrupled in density since it's planting a couple of months ago.
Just wanted to share since it's been such a long time coming for this single Thallasia to make some company for itself...
Thanks,
John.
