finally the 120 is wet

You need to take another fts Now that you have some more coals. It looks even better in person.

What would this thread be without out something getting D SMACKED?

Since the last batch of corals added to the tank, late January, I've been complaining about polyp extension. I blamed everything from old bulbs to a Klein fish. Possibly a 1 point alk swing. My rodi. A bad batch of salt etc...
I even went as far as saying due to working on the frag swap I'm not giving the tank the attention required.

Through March I really noticed growth slowed majorly. The colors are not what they should be with new bulbs. I changed the height of the fixture and still no good results. Currently I've been debating on going back to halides and or adding some reactors for carbon and possibly GFO.

So last night this is what I finally seen as the culprit

Yeah that's red bugs:deadhorse1:

Today I ordered Interceptor Spectrum. Next weekend I hope to start the first of 3 treatments.

Take this as a lesson to dip your corals. Even if you trust who you got them from you should still dip them.

Stay tuned for updates

I told you so:D

You'll be amazed at how good they look the day after dosing Interceptor! I'm getting frags from copps next week and even though I trust him completely and his feedback is perfect , I still plan on dipping to keep in line with my protocol of dipping everything. I should do a QT tank too , but haven't.

I had to treat my tank a couple of years ago and it was amazing how well things reacted afterwards. Hopefully the new spectrum works as well in tank as the old stuff.

Here's a few other pics from tonight

Red planet

Can you see one now

Pink milli with a hint of fish tail

Cali tort

I think this is suppose to be tri color

Yes you have. But some of us learn the hard way :deadhorse:

I hope so to. We shall see

I plan on using 1/2 of a 23mg pill 3 different times over a 3 week period. After each treatment I'll do a 25 gallon water change.

Do you run the skimmer while treating?

I will be but the air intake will be disconnected.

I'm also going to run a reactor with carbon starting with the first water change after the first treatment.

i haven't had full polyp extension in a long time and I recently am blaming it on my citron goby that pecks at the polyps all the time. I don't see red bugs but i remember the same issue when I had them. Now you have me worried!

who's thread is this?

If you only did one treatment instead of the 3 treatments as recommended over a 3-week time period, the chance are good you still have them.
