Picked up a used starfire illuminata from another member taking a break from the hobby. Custom steel stand made like a tank, some rocks and sand and stuff. What I believe is a euroreef 80 possibly.....? It's going to need some work but it's a pretty good start. Plans are custom skins, larger sump, brs dual reactors with carbon and gfo, ATO, and another kessil a350w... Although the one covers better than expected.

Your tank is off to a great start. I recently purchased a tank, and I have an extra BRS GFO reactor. If you are looking for one I can make you a good deal. If you want I can bring it to the next meet.

Nice =). Great platform to start. Have you decided on what your going to skin it with? Paint or stain.

The stand is going to be painted gloss black and the panels will be magnetic and gloss white. Basically gloss site trimmed in black looking.

Looks good I really like the rockscape. What other light you have over it? Looks like the Kessil and another fixture

It's a rapid led dimable setup with 4 blues and 4 uv's for night lights. I might swap in two more uv and dump two blues just cause it's real bright even on its lowest setting.

Yep sure was. Nice little setup to start with. Can't wait to start adding things to the equipment list. Controller, ato etc.

Agreed. It's always nice seeing what someone else does with your equipment. That's why I like to get things to other members cheap or free instead of dealing with craigslist.

My tank's owner went through 2 club members before me.

Were you looking for a reactor? Saw it on another thread. I have a 1 TLF with no pump. And are you going to the meeting this month?

I am looking for a couple reactors actually. I think I'm going to do one for carbon and one for gfo. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the meet cause I work that day and there's no one to cover my shift.

Spent some time on the tank today. Routed the airline back into the PVC of the skimmer to shut it up some, zip tied some stuff up a bit, put a 600gph return on it(I think the old one was like 350-450). Put a tlf reactor and some carbon, did my first water change, and moved a few things off the sandbed.

Here's what it was looking like this morning. Can't wait to have some skins on it.

Oh and I had my first found jumper. My orange stripe prawn goby :( I'm thinking I'll replace him with a Midas blenny in a month or two.

The prawn goby jumped? Do these look like a Randall goby and did you a shrimp with him. My goby stays burrowed.

Yep that's the goby. No shrimp with him though unfortunately. I tried once but the shrimp didn't make it. The shrimp was actually the only thing that's ever died in my tank.

The goby needs his shrimp buddy. They are awesome to watch if their hole is in front of the tank. My pair is in the back corner.

Yeah I know I tried to and it was kind of sad. Acclimated the shrimp, dropped him in the tank next to the goby and the goby took right too him buy the shrimp basically laid there until the snails took care of him.
