Finally!

Tschupe

Finally moved my tank inside and started filling it up. Still need to build the canopy but at least I'm one step closer.

Does your sump sit flush on the bottom of your stand? That was the one challenge I had with those stands, was I always had to find a smaller sump, becuase it was always 1/2" smaller than I needed (which hasn;t been a problem with my Bowfront)

Have you considered replacing the center brace with a piece of clear acrylic. I did it on a 29 bowfront and it worked great. Really easy modification and cut down on the shadow.

very nice, looks like the one that was for sale on FB? with a bigger tank, going to do a floating canopy or one that sits on top?

Can I make a suggestion on your plumbing for your new tank. It looks like your return is right next to the baffle. You may want to move it so it empties on the farthest point away so your not just pushing the water into the next section that way the skimmer gets more reaction time.

That shouldn't be to hard. Thanks for the tip.

I think I might have made a big mistake though. I went with Oolite sand because of the look but it made a mess of the water when I put it in. Ran the pump with floss and it cleared a lot but I still saw a layer of dust on top of sand. So I turned on my MP-40 and tank got crazy cloudy all over again. Thinking I should take it out and replace it before I go any further.

IMO theres a cpl options. keep the powerhead going and keep changing floss/socks until you get most of the finer stuff out, only remaining issue would be how much flow you wanted in the tank and if it will move that sand around too much.

Other option would be to put a layer of bigger grain sand on top of that, that way you dont have to go through pulling it all out and selling it all to buy all new sand again.

Other than the fine powder layer, does the rest of it stay in place for the most part?

I have fully cured rock so there won't be much of a cycle of any.

Mael: I can't tell if any sand is blowing around. Pretty much zero visibility right now. Lol
