Good luck these are hard suckers to catch!

Thats one ugly crab. I'm trying to catch a africian flameback thats nipping at my sps and clam. He wont go near the fish trap I have.

is that an emerald crab? I have 2 and the larger one nips at my rose tip bubble anemone? Just got some zoas too? should I be worried?

If its an Emerald the ends of his claws will be flattened or spoon shaped a modification for feeding on algae. I cant tell by those pictures. the crab is so covered by algae its hard to tell the carapace shape which would give other clues to its lineage.

That's a teddy bear crab, a species of the xanthidae family. Predatory, as you've already discovered.

Here's one for comparison.
