looking for some white fine grain aragonite sand, but all i can find is live stuff, needless to say i dont wont that. Save my money and seed it myself.

I found that and i don't know how fine of grain i need for around a 2-3 inch bed, it says good for one inch so i dont know if i can have deeper.

dude just use cheap play sand. has anyone ever had a problem they could definatly attribute to this? because ive had 3 tanks and 3 years without any problems

i've heard that too. because it is silica sand, but ouside of the first cycle i haven't had any problems worth mentioning
Many inverts actually need some silica to thrive.
In this article Randy Holmes-Farley actually recommends dosing silica if diatoms aren't a problem. I have no idea, if the silica in sand would be in a biologically usable form, and you would not really be able to control its release rate....

How big should the sand be though for a 3 inch bed? I think i read that too small and it ruins the whole bed (no flow). So what would be the proper size? 1.5-2mm
