hey guys i bought a green finger coral 2 days ago and until now it hasnt stode up yet, everytime i look at it its touches the sand nd looks like its having a hard time standing up. my water perimeters are fine so idk what it is, is it normal for it to do this?

Increasing the flow around the coral might help it to perk up. Also, these corals tend to like it when they have a firm base. Placing it on the sand is ok, but securing it among the rocks with some epoxy or super glue would be much better IMO. GL.

i had it on the rock with alot of flow and it looked like it was about to break off, right now i only have one 3000g power head im getting my 2 hydor koralia friday, but when i put it on the rock it looked like it was getting blown away to one side and i didnt want to stress the coral so i moved it to less flow area. but ill move it back onto the rock and see how that works thanks

Well, you might want to just leave it where it's at until Friday then. Putting it someplace where it's being pushed or pulled in the same direction all the time is not good. Once you get that other power head set up, things will be much more turbulent. This is what you want.

another thing i have posted this before but no one has answered, i bought two hydor koralia 1500 for my 150g tank, i want to know if i should work them both together at the same time of opposite to each other?

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, but that's what I would do. Place each pump at opposite ends of the tank and have them pointing at each other. Place them up high on the glass so that the surface of the water is constantly being agitated. The center of the tank will be very turbulent, while the outskirts will be somewhat calm.

i get that, but my question is should i run the both at the same time? cuz ive seen some people have them running at opposite times, for example one of them will start working and the other one will stop

Oh ok, like on a wave maker. I prefer to just keep them on all the time, but there's plenty of power heads in the tank to create quite a bit of random wave action. You could put them on a controller if you like, but I'm not sure these Koralia pumps were meant to be turning on & off like that all the time. You might have to do some research first before you go that route. Maybe somebody else with a set up like that will chime in though.

so let me just get this straight the way the powerheads work is if you have the both on either end of the tank and u aim them towards each other then the highest flow will be the ends of the tank and the lowest will be at the middle?

No. If you have the powerheads at the ends of your tank aimed toward one another and running all the time the most turbulence will be in the middle and the edges under the powerheads will be calmest. I have two 1500 Koralias on the Smartwave at each end of my tank. I switch mine on and off (with the smartwave) about every 7 minutes. One of them makes an annoying rattle each time it comes on. This is a known issue with this system.

finger corals just do that from time to time.. especially after being introduced to a tank/lighting. Give it a few more days.. It should perk right up.
