Fire worms and clams???

Fire worms and other bristle worms don't eat clams right? The guy at the LFS yesterday said the fire worm in my tank will go up my clams foot and eat it. I thought they only do this if the clam is sick or dying.

Is there anything that will eat Fire worms.

i know that bristle worms wont eat any feet like anemones or anything else except exesse food.

but im really not sure about fire worms

Here's the problem with common names.

If you actually have fireworms then you could be in trouble.

However these are pretty rare and you most likely just have bristleworms (aka fireworms) which are great scavengers.

Yea he is right if its a fire worm they would def cause damage. BUT theirs only a 15% chance you have one ..most are just bristleworms...but i have heard if you see damage to the clams foot you can put him on a rock or litterally build a mound of sand and stick him right on top
