firefish questions

I would like to add one or more to my tank:

1. CAn I add more than one magnifica?

2. Can I mix one magnifica and one decora?

I just added 2 to my tank 3 days ago and can i tell you they are amazing. THey get allong great with my 2 tomato clowns and 2 bangii cardinals. When the lights go out they do hide and "sleep". Im not sure about mixing them someone else would have to help you there but i was told to try and keep them in pairs

I've never had two reds or purples because I've read other people's experiences with multiples fighting to the death eventually. Firefish are aggressive toward conspecifics. I did have a red and a purple get along fine.

If your tank is big enough that each can stake out its own territory it should be ok.

In the long run, firefish do not tend to get along with another or conspecific unless they are part of a mated pair. In the short run, it tends to work out until they have established territories. That is why a 40 gallon with 30 of them at your LFS is not a problem.
