firefish sick?

I have a 75 FOWLR; all passive fish;
I have one firefish that's done well since about October when I got him.
The other day, for the first time, I noticed that his tail looks like someone nipped it - it's a bit shredded; I do notice that he has a red dot under his eye - that's been like that for about 3 weeks

He eats just fine and swims around just fine-

Could this be a bacterial infection with fin rot or something?
I never see any fish go after him and he doesn't seem to be afraid of anyone
All water levels are excellent (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph calcium, salt, phosphorus)

Do I isolate him and treat him or should I just keep an eye to see if it gets worse? I hate to freak him out if he's ok or if he's just a little under the weather and will get better-

Kimberly,

Can you post a picture? At least can you list the other fish in the tank and their sizes?

In many cases of aggression - you'll never see the attack. If the firefish has been attacked say, three time and each attack took two seconds, your odds of seeing it happen are minimal. Besides, while you're watching your fish, they watch you and their behavoir can changes (i.e. they stop fighting for a bit).

I only have a camera phone at this point, so I doubt the pic would come out.

I have a dwarf lemonpeel angel, flame hawk, 2 small ocellaris clowns, and.... (I know I said it's a passive tank) I have 3 left over yellowtail damsels that I have never seen go after anyone; I'm trying to catch them to return to the store, but haven't been successful yet.
