Ok I am done with firefox, they have erased all my bookmarks for the 2nd time and I had qround 80 of them. Now I have no reef stuff and cant remember all the sites I had so I am going back to IE6.

My point, DONT USE FIREFOX!

Also could any of you spare a few reef realated links?

My point - all software always has problems. If you're not paying for it, then it's hard to lodge any real complaints.

As in any responsible software usage situation, you should always backup your data on a regular basis as data can be lost at ANY time (data corruption, HDD failure, etc)

Firefox rules. You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

I agree, Firefox rules! I've only been using it for something like 5 months now, but it doesn't suck like IE6 does with the loading times, popup blockers blocking things that you requested to open, and "forgetting" that the network is actually connected, etc.

Firefox solved my problems, and like Psimitry said, backing up is a good idea. I have my favorites duplicated on both of my PC's, and a backup copy of each stored on the HDD's.

whats the difference between IE and firefox? I know my friend has (or had) firefox and liked it, but i never really asked why. But i have heard that lots of people hate IE, but again...dont know why. But then again, i'm not really a computer person...if it works, it works lol :)

My understanding is that back when Firefox first came out, it was almost bullet proof. There wasn't any spyware or anything that would affect it. Now that it has been around for a while, people have developed bad stuff that can hurt it (or use it to watch what you do), but the problem still isn't as bad as it is with IE.

I personally just find that Firefox is a more stable program.

I heard that Firefox was good but I have been so happy with Safari that I never got around to trying it. IE sux! I used to use Netscape just so I didn't have to use IE but Netscape crashed a lot. I like Safari a lot & never had a problem.
Frizz

so whats the bad stuff about IE? Is it slower or something? (cuz i know mine is goin kinda slow at times...now being one of em')

IE is open to exploits far more than Firefox. As a browser ages exploits are found. Except with MS they don't patch right away. I also love all the extensions that you can add with Firefox. I use NoScript and Adblock. I have never had spyware or pop-ups since

how do i go about getting firefox? Is it free? And i can still use both at the same time right? Only reason i ask that last part is cuz my dad always gets ticked off when i change stuff on the computer lol. Like i got rid of stupid norton antivirus and got a couple other free ones that work way better (and are free anyways) and we havent had a single popup or anything since then....but he still found some reason to complain about it haha.

So basically i'm asking...can i still keep IE till i get a chance to try out firefox?
