MomI purchased my first anemone about a week and a half ago. It looked like it was gonna implode for a couple hours, wandered around a little, and has been planted and hosting a maroon clown since the second day. My first question-why are the tentacles stringy in appearance? I read that the tentacles stretch and the disc opens when it's hungry or not getting enough light. It's about 20" below 2 150w 20k's and 4 48" t5hos, 2 giesseman lagoon blues, an actinic and a 14k. I fed it 2 little pieces of krill today , it ate, then became more stretched out. It had the typical bubble tip appearance when it was hiding under a rock the first day without much light. It's also in a decent amount of current.
other questions are, how far can it sweep? I moved everything about 6" away from the tips, a palm clavularia and a hammer still got stung pretty bad. What's the probability of recovery?
sg-1.025
ph-8.2
alk-8.5
calc-450
mag-1350
temp-80
no detectable nutrients.
here's before I fed it this morning
here's after feeding, very stretched
is this healthy? Also, it didn't look so great, and was under low light at the pet shop I picked it up from, shriveled and upside down
