Doug, I hear you on the MIII. But coming out at $4K-$5K is a bit more than I'm looking to spendI almost pulled the trigger on a 5D but decided on the 30D + 24-105 F/4L IS. I'm sure this will keep me happy for another six months or so, lol.
On my recent trip to Yosemite I watched two Nikon D200s in my group quit working because of moisture problems. What intrigues me about the MIII is that it's weather sealed. Even my wife, begrudgingly, commented that for what I do I should really have a weather sealed camera. That being said I probably won't buy later this year.
