first encouter with bubble algae...

picked up a frag a couple weeks ago and im starting to notice bubble algae growing on the edge of it. from what I have read I can take to frag out and manually remove the algae and then rinse it back off before putting it back into the dt, is this correct? seems to be contained to the one frag right now and just don't want it to spread anywhere else

Yes if you can still remove the frag. Just rinse in some saltwater after you pick it off carefully. Bubble algae will come and go.

Just stay ahead of it... If you see one just rip it out right before a water change. Don't worry about popping it. The only reason why this is such a problem IMO is because the owner let it become a problem... GL.

If it's on a frag plug, it's best to mount the drag on a new one and toss the old one or sterilize it. If not possible, a few drops of hydrogen peroxide, a little brushing and a rinse should eliminate it.

It's best to address it right away and keep it from spreading.

I'd remove it. Bubble algae doesn't usually spread super rapidly in my experience. If it starts to be a problem, emerald crabs can help.
