Quick question. I went to my LFS and purchased this tank with all the live sand and rock that was in it at the shop. The shop keeper gave me a heater and a MP1200 jet. the question i have is, is the 24g tank too small for that powerful of a pump. It seems to be moving the water a lot.. or is that what i am supposed to be going for? Sorry for the total noobie question

ok I am a newbie too, and just got a 24 gal. aquapod. I am using the stock filter and it seems to be doing fine. I also purchased live rock and sand to start, and red sea water, so that I didn't have to mix my own and cycle 2 months. How much LR do you have in it? Anything else? Sorry for the questions and not having a really good answer to yours, but I am sure you understand having a bunch of questions:)

I have added the 1200 to the display portion of the tank. one bag of live sand and i am thinking there is about 10 lbs of live rock.

Is there a chamber in the back thaty has a pump in it? Are you running 2 pumps?

Most people take out the pump that comes with the unit and use the MaxiJet, one MaxiJet1200 is not to much flow but if you have both of them going then it is.

The stock pump is good for mixing saltwater and in case you need a backup (powerheads go bad).
