First time diving + certification

I wouldn't worry about it. Same thing happened to me. I practiced and practiced for two weeks, and I still couldn't do a 100 meters.

you'll be doing it in a short pool, and you can complete the swim in any form you want, even backstroke.

I've heard about that, but I don't know backstroke :angryfire: . I do plan on learning it and going everyday for the next 2 weeks though.

Did you go thru the full 200 meters? I'm going to talk to Bamboo when i get to their oreintation

you'll make it, there is no time limit, just relax and swim.

i agree with the sentiment " if you get certified in Monterey, you will be capable of diving anywhere in the world" (maybe excepting ice diving and cave diving...)

I did go through all 200 meters. But you swim laps until you get to 200 meters. The pool is small, and you get a slight reprieve when you hit one end.

Yeah, I did see the pool today when I was there for orientation. Spoke to one of the instructors and he said I should be ok .

One thing I need to get cleared by my doc, I have a history of Asthma, though nothing recent. Oh well . We'll see I guess.

I am swimming everyday for a few days now, so hopefully can do better.
