Fish Aggression

My blue tang has become very aggressive toward my pink tailed trigger. Is the only solution to get rid of one of the fish? It use to just chase it every once in a while and let it come out and swim toward the top of the tank but now it continues to circle the trigger and nibs at it if the trigger doesn't run and hide behind the rocks. They are the only two big fish in the tank so I think that maybe the reason it only goes after the trigger.

That is one solution. You may be able to slightly rearrange the tank and add another fish or two to mix it up. That may or may not help though.

I was in an LFS one time they said something about putting a mirror in front of the fish. The fish will see his reflection and be more aggressive towards itself than the other fish. I try not to perpetuate urban legend and myth. I have a thousand cures for the hiccups too if you are interested. I only put that one out there to see if it had any credibility someone else could confirm. I doubt it though.

it is the fish only tank right? if so whenever i have outbreaks of fighting i rearange the tank a little and leave the lights off for a couple of days afterwards. Always worked for me. Just an idea

I only have ne tank, a 180 gallon, it has alot of corals, rearranging isn't very easy. Okay, it seems to just have days of aggressiveness and then it settles down and leaves the trigger alone for awhile then starts back p again I guess they will just have to keep workign things out between themselves. Today they seem to be cohabiting peacefully, that powder blue is just weird I guess
