have a pearl butterfly and was in QT for a month
it eats well ..feed it variety of muscles and dry food and Brine shrimp cubes
tank mates are
3 pajama cards
2 foxface
smaller pearl butterfly...they came together supposedly a pair.....they get along ok with each other
banner fish
clown
lawnmower
thing is since I put it in the DT 2 weeks ago it has now started twitching while swimming .going in the corner of tank and going up and down and then swimming out flicking the LR like trying to get something off but I can't see anything
looking at the fish it seems normal with not a mark on it
all fish were in QT for 1 month prior to going into QT

can anyone give me a bit of advice on this :headwally:

Do you add anything to your food ?
What's your parameters ? How similar are the water parameters in each tank. ? Did you slowly integrate the fish or just pop him in the DT tank ?
Can you see anything at all on his skin ?

tank is 220+gal has been running with no fish for 6 months with live rock and 2"sand filter ...sump is 45gal...parameters are normal
all fish were QT for 1 month and inspected regularly for ICH and fluke and how they are eating and general health
acclimated over at least 1 hour with DT water being the same as QT except for salinity water but temp in QT being higher 28/30c
salinity in QT is 1.022 and DT is 1.025
but 1 hour temp acclimation cause DT is set on 27.5c
looking at fish there are no lesions or sigh of ICH
these fish eat better than I do ...have just fed them fresh oysters ...could have made them an oyster shooter with Vodka haha
looking at how they are I do think this fish is mapping his territory...seems to hang around there and it is where all the current flows and the food seems to rise from the bottom to the overflow
anyhow I still need more info

The fish has some sort of gill parasites. That is what it has and it is very common. They sometimes go away or copper will cure it.

would a cleaner wrasse do the trick in removing parasites if they were there :eek1:

suspected Fluke

thanks for your reply to my problem
have been reading up on cures to fluke parasite
I would find it impossible to remove this fish from my tank because there are so many hiding places it can go to and never be seen
so because I only have a few 2 corals in the tank would you think PraziPro
would do the trick and would not in anyway affect the bio filter
only hope I could get this product in Thailand
I had the fish in qt for 1 month and there was no sigh of ant problems and I know that all other fish are ok and parasite free, but in future I might freshwater dip all new fish
thanks for any information

I treated in a DT that had 2 Anemanes and coral and didn't have any noticeable side effects. I was expecting the bristle worms to die but they didn't.

seems no one has Hikari prazipro here in backwards Bangkok...but can get API marine cure
has anyone used this product in the DT for Fluke
or can someone tell me where I can get it and they would send to overseas

I ordered Prazipro online from the U.S. and had it sent to Australia no problems. You can also use anything that has Proziquantel in it.

With flukes, a cleaner wrasse will help. There are numerous scholarly works identifying flukes as part of their diet, though a cleaner wrasse is not as effective as treatment with prazi. There are other parasites, such as ich, that cleaner wrasses do not eat.

The ways in which cleaner wrasses can provide help is they will also eat dead scales and fish mucus, and that behavior provides a service that makes the fish less susceptible to external parasites.

Cleaner wrasses can be difficult to keep though.
