Fish Compatibility

So I have had my tank up and running for a few months now and I have live rock and a few corals in it along with a few fish and will be adding a couple more.

At the moment I have two clownfish that are captive bred, and a six line wrasse. I also have two peppermint shrimps and a cleaner shrimp in there as well.

My tank is a 36 Gallon Bowfront.

I am trying to see what my best options are for other fish to be added to my tank that will get along well with my current fish and that would be happy in that size tank.

I was at a local fish store and was told I could throw a puffer in there, I was unsure of this because I saw it required atleast a 50 gallon tank under its specifications. I would love to add one but I want to make sure it would be a good environment for all the fish. Another few fish I had in mind were some dwarf angels... some that I liked were the Lemon Peel, Flame, Coral Beauty, and Flameback. Would any of those work. I am new to this so sorry if I sound it.

Any feedback is appreciated!

The puffer will kill your shrimp and with a six line and 2 clowns in that aquarium i dont think you can add more fish, maybe a goby. When buying a new fish search a lot of info about it because it might not be reef safe like the angels and will eat your corals or shrimp.

I agree, more or less, with the above. IME, the puffer will be hit or miss on the shrimp, and depending on the species, can grow way too big for a 36. I would consider getting rid of the 6-line - they have a strong tendency to go rogue at some random point in the future, and the odds of that happening are even greater in a smaller tank. I don't thing your tank is large enough for any angel. All of the dwarf angels can (will be) very territorial and although you might get away with it, it would make adding any other fish nearly impossible. I would consider a goby/shrimp pair if it were mine, or perhaps a firefish or even a flasher wrasse

+1 on goby shrimp pair. They generally keep to themselves and don't bother anything. Also low bioload

Excellent advice.

Not that I don't care about the welfare of the fish you get...of course I do...but think about it from another perspective. The larger the fish are relative to your tank, the smaller and more crowded your tank will look.

Just a thought.
