fish eggs?

So I noticed today my tomini tang and my leopard wrasse have unusually distended bellies... Looks akin to what I've seen of bluegill full of eggs.... So can female fish (the wrasse is, thought or assumed the tomini was male I must be wrong) carry eggs without a mate? What happens when there is no male around?

That doesn't sound like eggs. Could be some kind of intestinal blockage. Could you get pictures?

How distended is the tang? Tangs will eat sand to help them digest vegetable matter, and when they do, their bellies can look a bit "lumpy", so that's a thought.

If the wrasse is looking distended, they do eat all day long, or at least try to. However, leopards are notorious for coming in with internal parasites.
