Hi Brian,

Can you verify greshamh's post is valid? If so, please move my post to the appropriate section. I provided link of similar post that was allowed in this group.

If it's not valid, and you find that his intention to bring this thread to the same direction as the first one. Please let him know for me. I don't like to disrespect my elders

I agree that vendors should not be able to advertise and promote on this site... However, Users (customers/members - because this is a for profit site) should be able to share feedback about vendors openly.

I would prefer that the MODS delete strings (segments) of the posts they don't like and not delete the posts entirely. Even make note if applicable.

If this has happened great, I ready the first thread and can't say I followed all the history.

Let the information flow!

I completely agree!

Anyway, let's get this thread back to the original subject.

That's pretty much how it works. :) Commercial members on here may not sell, trade, or advertise in any manner their business or products they might be selling as part of that business. Additionally, members that have some sort of affiliation with a particular business (family members, long time personal friends, etc) should not be doing any advertising either. Basically - as long as you're simply a customer of a business you're free and clear to talk, discuss, review whatever you want about any vendor you want. If there is some additional motive behind a member posting about a particular vendor (ie. the owner asked them to "spread the good word" to get their name out) its probably going to catch up to them eventually and they'll be having a chat with a staff member ;).

As for what a commercial member is - its a bit of a grey zone on here in the current reef scene. Obviously if you have a store or an ecommerce site you're going to be considered commercial but being considered commercial on here doesn't necessarily mean you have to have a business name. If you're buying stuff wholesale or fragging on the large scale with the foremost thought of resale - those things can make you commercial as well. :)
