This is what I found on google but no definitive answer it seems anywhere. People think its either lymphocytosis or a fungus :/ don't have a quarantine may have to see if reef monsters can help with him.

Quarantine/hospital tank. Walmart sells 10g tanks for $13. cheap hob filter for for <$20.

5 gallons from your tank and 5 gallons new saltwater and you good to go.

i have a brand new 20g tang from petsmart. didnt know it was that easy to set one up tho figured it was more involved and needed bacteria and such. thnk you for the info. think im gonna try methalyne blue and see what happens. seems to b the safest approach to start. just worried that it could b something my other fish could catch. i dont wanna lose 1500 in fish bc of this. thnx again.

It's always best to qt everything for this reason it's not hard to bring something in that could wipe out an entire tank. Fingers crossed you found it early but deff keep an eye on everyone else in the tank .. Look for heavy breathing or any change in behavior

^^I agree, had a Tilefish with what I believed was Lymphocytosis last year and I treated with Furan-2, which is a broad spectrum antibiotic to treat gram-positive & gram-negative bacterial diseases of the skin. There are other gram specific antibiotics that may work better, but I could only use Furan-2 due to my anaphylaxis with the others.

Furan2 did work well and he survived to make it into the QT, but unfortunately him and another Tile died when a cat shut off the power to the tank...

Treating with antibiotics in a hospital tank is not easy, especially if you have never maintained a QT! Water parameters are key and will be high maintenance and difficult to maintain.

I was told there is no medication that will treat lymphocystis virus. Several of my fish have had lymphocystis. It does not really seam to bother/affect my fish at all and it generally goes away in a couple of days. Only one of my fish has shown signs of lymphocystis twice, the rest have only had it once. I would feed a little extra and try and keep maintenance in the tank at a minimal. Good luck, if it really is lymphocystis virus I would not be to concerned.

Lymphotocytosis isn't something that can be treated. Its a virus. The fish has it and will always have it. Its kinda like Herpes. You can have it and sorta control it (but in this case there is no meds). Just make sure the fish keeps eating and is not stressed out. The stress causes it to become apparent. It can spread to the body though. It normally is isolated to fins to start with but its a matter of the infected fin touching the body and spreading the disease. As well your other fish can get it to. I run a UV sterilizer 24/7 on my system rated for a 250gal tank just because I am paranoid. However, in this case it wouldn't do much for a virus I believe.

No matter what, set up QT immediately. Like bob says it is very easy to set up QT, bare tank+saltwater+cheap HOB filter+heater(we can probably get by without Heater).

Another must have is AmQuel in case your ammonia is out of control. I have some let me know if you want to borrow.
