Fish ID please

Hi, There is a guy in my town giving away this fish since he is moving, he has no idea what it is and sent me this photo. I don't either! :spin2: Any ideas? (I hope I got this pic on here ok)

From the pic, it looks like a large damsel of some type...if so, I'd leave it be unless you like mean fish.

The guy who's offering you the fish doesn't know? Odd...

It is a damsel, maybe a chromis? I would have to look, but there are many different species of chromis that get big are semi aggressive and lose all or most of the juvi color pattern. My thoughts are not sure, the mouth and curve of the face is wrong for most of the chromis I can think of right now. I will take a look but the other species I was thinking it reminded me of is the adult of the neon velvet damsel, has the right shape and as adults they lose all of the blue and white.

Yup, its some kind of damsel. Dont take it... there are alot of nice looking fish out there.
