Fish ID please

We purchased an established tank a few months back. When we bought the tank the owner said there was a Blenny in the tank. I don't recall what kind, but never thought more into it because I never saw him, I just assumed he wasn't in there, maybe the previous owner took him out and added him to his other tanks.

Well, We have an Ich problem within the tank, so we started TTM treatment yesterday. Guess what.... Found this guy, about 5" long under a rock. I can't find him anywhere online to ID him. Any ideas? He's difficult to get a photo of because of his eel like movement.

We will have plenty of room for his, our tank is 290, but I don't know if I want anything eel looking. At 12" they seem like they could knock some stuff over...

It isn't the accidentally knocking over of things I would be worried about with this fish. They are called Engineer Gobies for a reason - they like to build and rearrange the tank to their liking. A fellow reefer back in Germany had one of these and it did quite some extensive remodeling on the tank.

Though that aside they are actually quite interesting fish and with some luck can easily be propagated in a common reef tank.

Sorry, should've been more clear in my statement. By knocking things over.... I mean rock work :). He's going through TTM at the moment, so I have a bit to decide if he stays or finds a new home. I really don't like eels... This guy reminds me of an eel for sure. Sounds like they are rarely ever out tho except feeding time.
