Fish in QT won't eat

Ive had a yellow watchman gobie since sunday and i haven't seen him eat at all...hes in the second tank of TTM now, usually i add prazipro to this tank but if he's not eating i dont want to suppress his appetite anymore. I've tried feeding frozen mysis soaked in selcon and hikari pellets and he dont even blink an eye when they fall right in front of his face.....

is there something else i can try to feed him?

Do you have a cycled QT ready to after TTM? If so, I would maybe get you a tubberware container and fill it with a little sand and introduce some pods and see how he does. I would not seat it right now as it's still a little early. He still may be stressed in his new environment and with the TTM.

Can you get your hands on some live Blackworms. I haven't seen a fish that didn't inhale those wriggling bastards.

i just do ttm and throw em in the DT but i think im going to setup a QT and fatten him up for a couple weeks after TTM, if he makes it through TTM

ill look around for those thanks

I'm not sure whether you bought the fish online or at a LFS, but if it's the latter did you see the fish eat anything before you purchased it?

Try sinking pellet. This fish is a sandsifter: gulps a mouthful and extracts the lighter debris.

yes the lfs was feeding all their tanks while i was there.

I've tried the sinking pellets also, they practically bounce off his face and he dont even blink an eye

Does he have a PVC pipe or something to hide in? Could just feel too exposed. Good luck.
yes there is a PVC T in there, I've only seen him go in it once

Well semi good news, he ate 1 tiny piece of mysis....he just noticed his reflection in the glass and has been checkin it out, hopefully he will feel more comfortable with his new tank mate lol

I had a similar experience with my watchman and two clowns that were all in a qt at the same time. none of the fish were eating and I tried all different foods as well. What finally worked was live brine shrimp. my lfs happens to sell them by the scoop, I kept a gallon container of them for about a week, throw a few dozen in at a time That got everybody eating and then I switched over to mysis and pellets. even though brine is the best nutrition wise I think the goal is just to get them eating at this point

yes i seen him eat. i dont know what it was they were feeding but it was in a squeeze bottle the liquid inside was green and had chunks of maybe mysis inside.

i just went and got some flakes, entice and some other frozen smorgasborg, he is nibbling here and there but no much.....i still haven't done any prazipro just a formalin bath at end of ttm #1...gonna transfer him again in a couple hours. im probably going to keep him in QT after ttm to fatten him up a bit before he goes into DT

im still puzzled....its been 7 days tomorrow since i bought this fish and haven't seen him eat anything other than 1-2 little nibble on some frozen mysis shrimp...i just transferred him into the 3rd ttm tank today, he's kind of active in the tank and dont seem really stressed or anything.
how long can fish go without eating?

he finally ate another tiny little frozen mysis...thats 3 little tiny mysis I've seen him eat in 8 days...im surprised the little bugger is still alive.
im getting a pistol shrimp from liveaquaria tomorrow along with some other stuff....gonna throw the pistol in the qt with him hoping they become homies and he starts eating, which brings up another question. can i add prazipro to the qt if a pistol is in there.?

i was concerned about that also but i gotta do something to get this gobie to eat, he looks little skinny but not crackhead skinny and he moves around the QT tank, he's not breathing heavy or struggling for life but he needs to eat....he is really interested in his reflection on the side glass, he spends half the day kind of attacking his reflection. I taped some black paper to the outside of the tank but that made his reflection stand out more so i took it off

found some live black works, dropped a few in front of his face and he didn't budge. For the past few hours, knowing i was about to transfer him into the last TTM tank i threw the moon and stars at hime food wise and no luck, there is a possibility he's scavenging the little bit of mysis i dont turkey baste out.
I've been paying a lot more attention to him today than normal and he's almost non stop messing with his reflection on the glass. I think his reflection is stressing him out.
I dont know what the heck to do
I asked this a couple posts ago but ill ask again. What if i toss a pistol shrimp in there with him.? i think its a possibility they could hang out and that would lower his stress level.

BTW hes in the last TTM tank, if he dont straighten up quick im going to have to setup a more permanent QT tank and keep him in there for awhile until either he dies or starts eating. I still haven't dosed prazipro, which im not really worried about i can do that anytime, he does need 1 more formalin bath which ill do right before TTM is over.
