Fish is sick. Unknown disease.

My sailfin tang has been fine up until today when i noticed brown spots on his body and fins. He is constantly rubbing up against the glass like he is scratching at a parasite. Please help me identify this as i don't want the disease/parasite infecting my other fish.

Hope my picture works. Will post more if necessary.

I think it looks more like black ich to me. Hard to tell from the pic. Maybe flukes. That would be treated with Prazipro.

I don't think it is ich.

I agree; although I'm not great with pics.
The pic shows a few big dark areas; are these due to lighting or actual discoloration of the fish?

Black ich is a worm and can be treated in the DT with Prazi-Pro; an excellent wormer. It will kill feather dusters and other worms. It is the only med that I'd ever use in a reef tank, so I'd sure get a QT/HT ASAP. You'll need it sooner or later.

Melafix is one of many tea/ herbal-type meds that claim to do everything and do nothing. (Ironically, black ich isn't on their long list of stuff they claim to cure). I have never heard of this stuff working on anything.

BTW, this post seems to be in several spots on the forum. This is extremely confusing. Please pick the appropriate forum and you'll get help.
