He's eating and he's got plenty of room cause he doesent really leave his nem.

Unsubscribing from this thread...good luck with the health of the fish.

I think your fine for now, but it will get to big and you will just have to get a bigger tank. I believe you can tell if your fish is healthy (and happy) by daily observation. Is his color still vibrant, clear eyes, eating well, calm...not nervously swimming, smooth body, etc, etc? I know it's not right most of the time to put any fish in a 6g but there are always exceptions. Just skim hard or do your water changes to keep up on parameters.

If they are eating, they may be OK. Clowns don't usually get ich from stress so that may not help but I would bet that the fish will be stressed as it grows.

You have any insight as to how to tell if they are fine?

In store- 2 healthy eyes, nice gills. skin and fins, good appetite.
At home-all of the above+fish being curious, not being shy(unless it is the species natural habitat).

I didn't mean to disturb your peace here, sorry if I did. This gentleman obviously just started this hobby, we're not suppose to give him half finished answers. He asked about introducing a third fish in his tank. I think we all know what's up with that.

nano man22,

Go a head and put a 3rd fish in the tank .Then about 4-6 weeks later let us know here how's everything going. If you succeed everybody should say " you're the MAN", if not there's always a second chance, and everybody here should forget this missunderstanding.

IMO

nano man22,

Your tank is grossly overstocked no matter what you think or what you think you may be observing. Stocking levels aren't determined by today or next week, they're determined by next year or the year after.

Sorry you didn't get the answer you wanted to hear but you've been given good advice. Do with it as you please ............

Thanks ilikelps, after all the info iv'e gotten iv'e def decided i'm not getting anymore fish but i'm kepping the ones i have until they get unhappy, nervous, or are not eating as soon as any of that starts im taking them back.

And until I see that the fish is uncomfortable with its home I will not remove not remove it.
How are you gonna know if the fish is uncomfortable? do you speak fish?

so i could keep you in a small cage as long as you're eating, your arms are intact, and not looking too clumsy?
when they stop eating and start losing fins, you've pushed them past the point of "uncomfort", now they are really hurting

And as I do agree with some of what they are saying, I will not remove the tang and the trigger yet. they get alonmg great as a pair and are eating perfectly well. And until I see that the fish is uncomfortable with its home I will not remove not remove it. So nanoman rock on!

Ben

Your both missing the point.

nanoman: Unlike freshwater, saltwater will not stunt. They just die. By the time that your clown shows signs of "unhappy, nervous, etc." it will be too late.

ilikelps: Shame on you! All I have to say to you is that you are outright inhumane to those fish.

It's people like you 2 that keep fish that grow large in too small of aquariums that give the hobby a bad rep. Some people are all ready against the hobby because it takes fish, corals, etc from the reefs and oceans (although there is SOME that are being aquacultured). So when the reefs and oceans really get into trouble they'll shut down our hobby because of people like YOU.:mad2:

dude. your tanks going to crash.
its only been up 2 weeks and you have a 2 fish and a men in there. i give your tank about 3 more weeks before its all dead
