Fish Only Question... Please advice!!

Does fish only tanks with live rocks need skimmer? I want to start a 15gal tank and just want to see if skimmer is needed. any side affects if it is not used?

What kind of bioload are you going to have? I've never had a small tank, but I'm assuming you can just a couple gallons of water changes every few days not have to deal with a skimmer.

bummer, thought i would get away without a skimmer. So in any sense, skimmer is a must just for and saltwater ?

There are quite a few people that run skimmerless. You just have to keep up with the waterchanges. It is easier to just get the skimmer instead of having to always do a waterchange.

I agree that running a skimmer is optional, if the bio-load is reasonable, but I would recommend one strongly. They are a great safety net, and lots of people have rather heavy stocking in fish-only systems.
