fish options

Hello,
I have a small 10 gallon tank setup woth 2 clown fish, about 15lbs live rock, 10 lbs live sand and CUC. I am currently setting up an 80 gallon tank. It will be mostly fish and live rock with some soft corals. I have been told several opinions on what type of fish and how many can healthily live in this tank. I wont be running a sump initially but in the near future I will add a sump.

Equipment:
80 gallon tank-drilled
remora skimmer (not sure of the model, rated for 125 gallon, was being used on a friends 150 with no issues)
4- T5 light fixture
2-actanic lights
1- purpe light
1- white light
2- maxijet 1200 power heads
2-aqua clear 70 power heads
1-hob filter (it was a make at home acrylic box acts like a sump, adds about 15gallons to the water volume.
75-90lbs of live sand
70-100lbs live rock

I have been looking at different fish for s few months now and have come up with a rough list of what I would like in the tank. They wont all be added at once, they will be added after a 4 week quarentine each, they will be added no closer then 2 months apart, this should allow me to moniter water quality and not over stock. Nothing will be added until the tank has completed its cycle, the CUC will be added after the cycle and be alone in the tank for 2 weeks before I start adding anything else.
Any coral I find wont be added until a minimum of 6-10 months of the tank running smoothly.

Now for the list of fish I have been thinking about. Feel free to add, remove or revise any of the fish.
2- percul clown fish (already have in 10 g allon)
2-skunk clowns (not sure if they are compatable with other clowns)
1-regal blue tang(not sure if tank is big enough)
1-yellow tang(not sure if tank is big enough)
2-3 6 line wrasses

I would like 1 or 2 medium sized fish as main fish and several smaller fish to add movement and colour. I am open to any and all suggestions.

The yellow tang would be fine but not the Regal blue tang--its adult size is over 12 inches.

any suggestions on other fish that could be added ontop of these fish or instead of them? I know there are tones of options when it comes to CUC, is something more prolific or efficient then something else?

Probable issues with the two types of clowns, just not enough separation in an 80 gallon tank, I'd pick one type or the other. I also foresee possible issues with more than one 6 line wrasse. I'd substitute a royal gramma and a fire fish (I love my purple fire fish) for the other to wrasses.

rather then the skunk clowns I would add three or four blue-green chromies. They school very nice.

wow 4 fish suggestions and they all look cool. I think I need a bigger tank.

PS might be hard to hide 150gallons from the fiancee. Ill just tell her the tank grew on its own.

The sixlines will fight to the death unless you only get the one and even then they can be quite an aggressive wrasse. I would stick to the one pair of clownfish as well. The regal gets too big but the yellow should be fine ( unless very large already)

ok maybe I will just get the 1 wrasse and last so he doesnt think he can be boss. Sounds like the 2nd pair of clown fish are out. As for the tang I will stick with a yellow, as for size I prefer to get everything small and watch it grow.

The tang will be fine for most of its life. As a full grown adult, the 80 gallon display is a hair too small. I personally love the Manderins. They swim like a helicopter flies and have all the colors of the rainbow. Don't add one to the tank before you have a noticable population of pods in your sump. they rarely eat anything but live food so this is a must.

The Midas Blenny is a great fish. They swim goofily around and take all kinds of food. they like to dig caves and chill on your rockwork, very fun fish

Cardinal fish, either the Bangaii or the Pajama Cardinals are fun and school well in pairs or more.

I have had an Orange Flame Tail Angle goby for years and it is one of my favorites. He digs caves in the sand, Plays nicely with others and regularly interacts with the cleaner and fire shrimp. he'll eat from my hand, is lightning fast and has beautiful coloring.

You wouldn't know from looking at them, but sixlines are mean little cusses...

Mine never ate the flatworms he was supposed to, just spent all his time chasing everyone else until he eventually went surfing into the sump and died.

I have been doing more reading while I wait for my tank to cycle and I found another cool fish. I was thinking about getting a chevron tang. They seem to be among the smaller tangs so need slightly less space. My question is will the yellow tang and chevron tang get along? or atleast ignore each other? is it reef safe?

Chevrons are reefsafe. It should get along with a yellow tang because they are members of different genera. Make sure you check out a photo of an adult. They tend to lose their cool color and pattern as they mature.
