Why does my flasher wrasse only swim to the left?

When I got home today I didn't see him, later I fed and he didn't come out. I eventually found him hiding at the bottom of the tank, then I just saw him hiding under the brain coral. He finally came out from under the brain and he's swimming around the bottom of the tank and he's only swimming left, he's going in complete circles.

Now I look at him and he's under the brain again. He looks perfectly fine and healthy. I've had him for about 3 motnhs now.

Sometimes fish pick up an the neurosis of thier captors.
Jeffy, do you only use your left hand ? :lol:


Are his fins okay and intact ?
Are they clamped down or splotchy looking ?

no his fins are fine. They both move when he swims. his dorsal fin goes up and the fin on the bottom moves as well.

well, then he's been in a pitstop for about an hour and a half now.

Is the fish swimming on it's side at all? If so, I'd say internal parasites.

no he swims normal, just in tight circles. Like if you got in your car and turned the wheel all the way to the left and just keep going.

I saw your original post but has he eaten yet?

Is he breathing heavy?

I know you said he was acting normal minus that, just checking.

breathing normal, i didn't see him eat today. We'll see tomorrow. Maybe he was just tired.

oh yeah, he's swimming normal now. I think him and his girlfriend were in a fight.
