I have just setup my 32 gal, and my plans after it cycles is start slow with a couple fish.....Then progress slowly. My question is how many fish and coral can I have in it. Also fish that are reef safe and play well together?

Usually no more than 5 fishes... Clowns, Cardinals, firefish are common. What fishes are you eyeing?

Not real sure.... Definitely a clown. We had a 70 gal years ago and over did it with too many fish and corals. That's why I am asking so I don't make that mistake again. I figure a nice clean up crew that includes a sand sifting goby, 5 fish, and maybe 8-10 corals......Is that realistic?

Yes I currently have 2 clowns, 2 hammer corals and 3 zoa frags, I also have an LED 32. Lots of good info over in the nano tank section...

I wouldn't do 5 fish in a 32 gallon biocube. Most I would do would be 3-4 small fish. Typically sand sifting gobies will need a much larger system with lots of sand to keep them well fed - I would stay away from them unless you can provide large amounts of pods. You can go crazy on corals. No max as long as you have enough room and ample lighting.
Shrimp gobies, clownfish, cardinals, dartfish, wetmorella or ataenia wrasses are all good choices for a system like this.
