Fish Selection, Juvenile vs. Adult

If one were to be looking at stocking tangs, should he look for juveniles or adults? Are juveniles more suitable for tank life? As I hear juvenile tangs tend to fair better if they're housed when young. Can someone list the pros & cons?

Juveniles are better since they won't have developed tastes or lack of taste for foods like some adults have, and they are cheaper, plus who doesn't want to watch their tang of a inch or two grow into a adult? Some tangs are harder to find as juv than others

I prefer juveniles in most fish for a variety of reasons, not just the desire to see them mature. In some species the juveniles are not yet sexually differentiated. The downside is that they are collected less often because they are less attractive (to some).

I would think juveniles are better .. Wouldn't they be less aggressive & possibly learn to coexist with other tangs? (Of course others factors like tank size, species etc being ok)

Thanks Guys! I went with a purple tang, it came today and wasn't exactly a juvenile as I had hoped. But it isn't an adult either, 3" - 3.5"

Feeding seems to be tricky, he's really healthy but prefer to graze on algae all day. I tried seaweed, frozen veggie mix, frozen brine shrimp, and frozen blood worms all dipped in garlic. He only put in some interest with the seaweed, taking a few tear at it then proceed to look for more algae. I'll have to try live food or macro algae next. I also heard good reviews on Reef Frenzy as well.
