Fish stores in San Francisco

What's the word about acouple of stores in SF other than 6th ave that is horrible. What's the Pro and Con of each store Fish Fish and More Fish, Lucky Ocean Aquarium, Tropical Reef, and Ocean Treasures? Just looking for feed back from the public.

Lucky Ocean - Pro: Usually health stock, if things do get sick/diseased he will actively treat them before selling, prices comparable to 6th avenue on many items. Cons: Not a terribly large selection of corals, if you're into SPS then probably should look elsewhere, although getting minicolonies is not out of the question.

Tropical Reefs: Never been

Ocean Treasures - Pro: Friendly, large stock of items, store looks uber cool, lots of corals to choose from. Con: Parking is a pain, do NOT park in the lot next to the store the owners of that lot have been known to lock the gate with cars still in there.

Aquatic Central (Ocean Avenue) - Pro: lots of nice little things, fairly cheap on invertebrates, some corals are a good deal. Con - Fairly small selection of fish (although they have a downstairs area that is supposed to open up more room), some corals are priced for their rarity (ie no finding a gem in the rough and getting it for a steal of a price), occasions I've been in the staff has been more concerned about tank related items (although if you ask for help you can get it, but I'm the type of person who likes the merchant to give me a "If you have an questions just ask" type feel).

East Bay stores... yeah I would say at one time all the better ones were over there, but stores are closing up all over the place so don't think this applies as much. The bonus of the east bay stores is they have room to expand (cheaper rent per sq.ft)

Lucky Ocean has always been a great place to visit. Nice selection of fish and soft corals at great prices. When you catch them at the right time, SPS are affordable and nice. The staff are super friendly and helpful with great advice.

Lucky Ocean is my choice. Been going there for a long time and always great stuff. Good choice of LPS and fish.

spoke to steve at lucky ocean and he said he wasn't getting the shipment of coral that he needed so taking a couple of shipment rest. not sure but i know shipment was on friday and i went there in the morning and he told me he didn't order. but by all mean. i would trust steve at lucky he knows what he is doing especially on fishes and treatment of disease. great service and healthy fishes. coral selection is limited but if you find on you are looking for you for sure know it is healthy.

i think a good supply store would be 6th ave because they buy everything so cheap for fish selection of probably the most and different kinds of fishes for health wise, probably not the best but if you think about it they buy in bulk it like going to costco and compared to 7/11 you can't pick what in the package but at 7/11 you could get it one at a time. so as a package they get the saving and pass it down to customers. if you decided to get a fish from 6th ave. just make sure you put it in a hospital tank. you should have one anyway. (well it is what recommended) and don't use the store water cuz most store even steve at lucky copper thier tank. if you don't know ask!!

N-E-ways I had enough of trash talking about different store if you think ya can do a better job. why don't you get the finaces and open up a store drop prices and give us the savings. Hey i know i can't so there is no trash talk from me
