Fish suggestion

I am looking for a fish around 8'' in length (give or take an inch or so), that is reef safe or at least has the potential to be(such as pygmy angels), is not a tang, and is not likely to wreck havoc in a peaceful community. Genicanthus angels are nice, but I would prefer to keep them in a pair and I am looking for a single fish. The fish should also be from the Indo Pacific.

I am just looking to fill a spot in my stocking list with something other than another tang. I already want the 2 spotted bristeltooth tang and a Copperbanded butterfly. I have considered a purple tang, but fear it's aggression, I have also considered a powderbrown tang, or a yellow tang, but I am worried that in a 150gallon, there won't be enough algae tot keep them happy. I think I am still thinking the powderbrown is the best fit for minimal chance of aggression. I will be feeding nori and sea veggies, so I could keep the 2 tangs, if that ends up being the best solution. I have also considered the bluejaw or crosshatch trigger, but I feel they are an awful lot of bioload and would be cramped and out of proportion in a 6' 150g.
Thanks for your input in advance.

A majestic angel would be a dream fish for me!!! I was under the impression they would consume my zooanthids and nip my clams?
Same idea with the Regal.Don't the majestic angels get over 1' also?

I like the trigger, but I fear they will be cramped and add a lot of bioload to an already slightly heavy fish load. I will look at the pinktail again and check its max size to be sure I remember correctly.

yea I wouldnt put any large angels with corals. clams would be like candy to them im sure....ive seen regals in reefs before. I dont know enouggh about them although.

as far as the pinktail scott michaels book says around 13 inches which is alot of fish.....beautiful though!! I want one so bad

I am missing my Scott Michaels book...I left in at my friends condo in Ocean City and it driving me nuts!! I go there in a couple of weeks to stay for a while and I'll have it back. I am sure there will be lots of ideas in there.

Marine betta

I worry about a marine betta eating my firefish and shrimp.

I think a powderbrown tang is still the safest bet. I have thought about a bicolor angel, but that's another angel prone to nipping things in a reef. I like lost of the pygmy angels, they are just too small. One that was at least 6'' and primarily reef safe, would be ideal. I have considered the venestus angel, but I worry that a captive diet won't maintain one. I suppose the sponge formulas would be adequate, if it accepted them in the first place. I'll just keep reading up on my options and see ahich one jumps out at me.
