Fish suggestions for 24G nano

My 24G nano is 2 months old now, full of LPS and softies but no fish, nor snails nor crabs. Nada. I do have some chaeto in the tank with tons of amphipods and copepods, though.

If you had to pick a single fish to add a little action to the tank what fish would that be?

Some fish I've been thinking of:
  • Yellow Gumdrop Goby
  • Fire Goby
Thanks.

pbetito - I've been holding out for one of those miniature dolphins...very cute.

Matt - Midas Blenny - Not a bad idea and will research further

kevin95695 - 2" sand bed, so not sure it is deep enough for a jawfish but I get you as it is really cool to watch them build their burrows, etc.

Dottyback! Wow, now you are bringing out the big guns. The Arabian or Neon dottyback, officially named P. aldabraensis is a cool fish and good thing I don't have any shrimp.

Very good suggestions. Any one else?

A Royal Gramma is great in a small tank. They like the place to themselves and they have a great personality.

A clown is also good, they don't have to have a mate or an anemone.

There are a lot of blennies, great faces and personality. They also like to be king of their own castle.

The yellow "gumdrop" gobies are nice but many of the other gobies are pretty shy, you may not see them much.

I have a 3" maroon clown and a Sebae in mine. The clowns are so territorial, it is happy as a clam in there. Nice colorful fish, plenty of action, always by the anenome.

I think with a Viper light, these make GREAT anenome tanks for those wanting to dable in the art of anenome keeping.

Have you considered 4 or 5 Tangs.....a school of those would look great in a 24g

Went by AC in Dublin today and of all the fish I saw a little yellow gum drop goby looked like the best fish.

So, found my first fish! Thanks for the suggestions.

Bryan - U funny. AC had about 10 'little' Anglers but I don't think so. I think I'll still hold off for a pod of mini dolphins.

Or, take Dots suggestion and let's say go for a small school of peaceful Soho tangs!

Matt - I'm still on the lookout for a nice looking midas blenny.

What do you think about the Orange Lined Cardinalfish (Apogon cyanosoma). e.g Here is a picture from LiveAquaria

Mark - That's a cool fish.

From the PetSolutions web site it looks a good candidate for a nano since it is tiny 2 inches (avail 3/4" to 1 1/4").

Relatively expensive little guy though.

Underwaterparadise - Panda Gobies are very, very tiny and accrording to Marine Depot Live a 'restricted species' that also doesn't ship well. Don't know why.

Maybe Matt can chime in here...

Great nano sized fish, but they don't ship well at all for some reason IME. I'd go with picking it up from a LFS if you can. Once settled in they are super hardy and easy to feed like all cardinals. Ask about A. margaritaphorus cardinals too.
