Fish suggestions for 75g

Hello all,

I'm looking to stock my 75g with some more fish. The current fish list includes 2 clowns, 1 dottyback, 1 goby, and three shrimp (pistol, cleaner, and peppermint). The tank has about 80 pounds of LR. I like small-medium fish, as I dislike putting a big fish in a small tank. I've looked on liveaquaria, but haven't really found anything that has caught my eye. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can put in mystery wrasse, depending on your goby you can put in a few fire fish espically the heilfrichi, flame angel, scooter blenny, anthias, certain wrasse like the clown wrasse, scotts fairy wrasse, flasher wrasse, mandarin. other gobies. tangs are iffy i have two blue tangs in my tank I have had them since they were like an inch big and now they are like 3 inches and it's been 6months. So i mean they say 100g for them but i put them in anyway.

go with some peaceful Wrasses like Halichoeres melanurus, Halichoeres chrysus, Halichoeres claudia, Paracheilinus rubricaudalis, Paracheilinus mccoskeri, etc.

A mystery wrasse will most likely take out a couple of your shrimp. I would avoid a "blue" tang, they get over a foot big, and don't belong in a 75.

What type of clowns?

I would go for a pair of dwarf angels, many to choose from.

Maybe a Bellus angel? They don´t get too big and should´t bother any corals...but dwarfs would be a nice addition too :)

I agree, a flame angelfish, potters angelfish, or coral beauty would make for a nice addition. Also you can look into the more rare dwarfs such as the japanese pygmy angelfish if you want something different.

The clowns are oscellaris.

I LOVE angels, particularly flame angels. However, I'm nervous about them nipping corals... I would be content with a few chromis (3-5) and a flame angel. Do you think the chromis would school? Would a flame angel pose enough of a threat to make them do so?

I second the bellus angel. I have one in my 75 and it is awesome. Also, a peaceful wrasse would be good.

i picked up a multibar angel today . DFS actually emailed me today as well and they have some available in the medium size mabe get a pair? There really beautiful but hard to get them to eat :). A pair of bellus would be beautiful though

All of you guys with angels... are you not worried/concerned about coral nipping?

A little bit, but not too much. Mine seem to mainly nip at open brains, at least the ones in my 58, so I just moved that coral to another tank. For the most part they leave my SPS, Clams, zoas, and anemones alone -- the important things to me.

IMO, you just have to judge which is more important - a certain coral or a certain angel.

Right, I myself have never had any luck keeping Angels with Corals. Even my Dwarfs like Coral Beauty's and Flames didn't play nice with some of my softies. Unless you are really dead set on both, I would just decide what's most important to you.
