"Fish Tank Kings" on Nat Geo Wild

Fish Tank Kings appears to be a new TV show on Nat Geo Wild channel.

Has this show been on for some time and I just didn't know or is it really a new show. Looks like competition to "Tanked"

All I said while watching it is this is just like tanked. I do like how they have a "expert" for fish and corals and a "husbandry" manager..

It is true that I have been working a long time on show about the obsession, I mean hobby. :rollface: The focus was on the hobby of living reef aquariums, education, showcasing shops, manufacturers, and home and public aquariums.
As I am sure you are aware, the investments of time and money is tremendous and the business is cut throat. I actually had "tanked" steal one of my partner's celebrity clients for an episode this season, that we were going to film for our show. There is also some unfortunate truth to some of the other program's chatter regarding control and showing what the network wants vs what the producer(s) want. Some unfortunate truth to having to mold your show to get it on the air, to hopefully be able to later mold it back to what you want it to be. I don't want to get in trouble with RC so I don't want to discuss too much, but we have had some interest, and I hope to have something that actually represents the real hobby available in the fall.

It is a target audience. I just hate how all these "reality shows", regardless of genre, have these background plots going on during the show. I love a lot of the shows. Pawn Stars, American Pickers, American Restorations, etc etc. It seems like the network either stages or forces them to come up with stupid things to do while the meat of the show is going on. Tanked is fun, but did they really have to do "the man cave" in the shop? Like that would have really happend. They just want everyone to seem whacky and zanny and it's so transparent.

I think it would be fun if they went back the Marlin's stadium after the hair algae gets a good foothold. I wish they had showed more of the equipment room. I'd like to know if there's a big chiller hookup, etc. The people on the new show are a little easier to take than those jerks on "Tanked". I doubt I'll watch anymore of either of them.
