Fish won't eat!

Bought a pygmy angel for my 28g nano cube two days ago. Have some Rogger's reef food. Tried putting some in the tank but my fire shrimp ate it up before the fish even saw it. I then tried to get some tweezers and put the food on that, but the fish won't swim near my hand. Please any advice to get my fish to eat would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

First, don't panic. I new fish may well take a week or more to get settled in. And in a 28 gal that could take longer, depending on what other fish you have, etc. It certainly won't take food from your hand right away (few fish actually do after years). Offer smaller feedings multiple times a day.

A pygmy angel can feed off of your LR as well, though I am not sure how much you have or how much life is on it. Is this a first fish? How long has your tank been set up? What other tankmates are in there?

Good advice from Rebel, but a pygmy in that sized tank may be problematical as they are grazers.

Thanks for the help. I have about 30 pounds of LR, 20 blue hermits, 2 mexican turbos, a red fire shrimp and some various corals (zoas, green star polyps, candy cane, and hammer).

I agree with both points. IMO & IME; plenty of MATURE LR is key for most dwarf angels. I'd never put one in a tank that hadn't been set up for at least 6 months.
