So my last question was a bit silly. Hoping this one is more acceptable.
I'm thinking of getting bengaii cardinals, now the Lfs sell them @ £21 for one or £39 a pair. Could I get away with 2 in my tank as it is now?

They would only truly pair up if you ended up with a male and female. They are somewhat hard to sex. The one I have is quite docile, but they do get to a decent size. The fish you have don't really spend so much time in the water column so you could probably get away with it, but I'd say that would be max for the tank.
 
Please make sure they are captive breed. These days most are, but the wild population of bengaii cardinals are critically endangered. Plus wild caught bengaii are not very easy to feed since they dont readily prepared food.
