inspiring! What a great collection of superb stonys. I love the way you let them compete, too. Tell us about your maintenance routines...how often do you do w/c?
I try to do ~10 - 15% wc once a week or at least bi-weekly.

More pics:)

Acan lord: bought this back then as a 'brain' coral at a LFS. It was totally washout with almost no red or pink hint on it at all except that the polyps telling me it's not a brain and more an acan. So I asked the LFS guy would the color of this 'brain' coral change to something nicer.. he said it should turn a little greener:)

Calc additive: by calc rxtr and kalkwasser rxtr.

NICE!!! please share some more of your sump or refu system

Great colors. It looks like you've used a wide range of lamps (all DE?) in the 250 wattage. Which one do you like the best for color and pop of colors on the corals? I'm using 250 DE xm 10k's now with 4- 72" vho's. I'm looking for growth right now and while I'm happy with the colors when they reach the size I want I want to change to a higher K lamp to get the colors to pop alittle more.
Thanks.
Tony

What is your water temperture and how do you control it? Can you please post pictures of your entire setup?
Great looking tank!!!

Thanks Fisheebill!

Well.. since I cant show off the full tank shot because someone got trigger happy.. I can at least show the full evolution from start to present. This pic is from 6-2006. And the next pic is the one I took 3 months ago.

I love the color....can you post pic of your light setup please...thats alot of light for a 210!....I only have 3 150 watt 10,000k lights

row12, I use all electronic ballasts, 3 from Icecap and 2 from another brand that supposed to make the icecap ballast too.

Johan Susanto, I have a 55gal sump full of cheto with a 6" DSB. recently I added another type of macro that is very leafy. I use two cheap lighting fixtures at HomeDepot w/ the 15w PC daylight bulbs. also have carbon in a phosban type reactor. Hope this help:)

tony13, I like the 14K phoenix bulb since they are good for viewing. The 10K bulbs are used for supplement lighting. the 10K bulb give more intense blue color on the coral - i think. I like the ushio 10K since they are pretty white while the Reeflux is too pinkish to me.

reefsahoy, parameters: dKh 11 (used to be ~9-10), calc ~450, mg ~1200, ph 8.0-8.2, salinity 1.025.

dobly_1999, temperature is the biggest problem for my tank since my entire system sit in the garage and I live in Houston! In the winter i have to keep the tank ~79 and summer ~83F. My corals don't like it at all when I start increasing temp when summing is comming. My corals usu turn brown once i get to 82F and it takes at least couple months to get them come back. Therefore, summer is more of a getting by time for my tank and i enjoy my tank more during the winter time! Wish I could have a better choice. If I were able to run my tank a the same temp all yr round, my corals would be much better - i think:)

Invincible, thanks for the pics again and glad that you made the correction on the date of the pics:))))

As you requested, here is the pic of the system in the garage taken by Marc at Melev's Reef when he came by 2 weeks ago. It's not as nice as viewing from the front - sorry :D
