Excellent! What camera/lense combo did you use for these?
OT- curious about your occupation- commodities relocation technician. What exactly do you do? Besides take awesome photos.
One more thing- on your website in the birds section, image 5944 is something. Timing is everything.

Thanks for the reply. I honestly thought photography was your full time occupation.

I wish ....... There are so many people out there taking pictures, its very hard to make a living at it. Unless your with a large publication, people sell stock photos online but that's a joke in my opinion yes you get so much for each download but its peanuts to what the people who buy them will get out of the images. Some people I know think its great I just dont care for it . I have sold some aircraft shots to performers and military squadrons but its definitely not enough to pay the bills.
I do it cause I love it and keep it fun and enjoyable.

As I recall from my primary education days, when the symbol of our country was being decided upon, those against the bald eagle cited their scavenging tendencies as a poor image to project.
I see it as a clever energy conservation strategy. Why expend extra energy unnecessarily? Except of course, to create the opportunity for really neat pictures!

I've found it to be somewhat of a pain. Then again I don't charge the outrageous prices that I am told I should. Sort of just makes it extra "work" to do, for a few hunded dollars here and there. Since I don't sell on a regular basis (because it's just a pain and I usually try not too
) my print heads usually get clogged, then I have the frustration of getting everything working properly and so on. The book and magazine stuff was sweet though. All I had to do was send my slide or scan.As Ahux said, there are actually a lot of good photographers out there. When people tell me I choose the wrong profession, I usually tell them "yeah, but I like taking pictures and I want to keep it that way". I'd hate to feel the pressure of "needing" to get a shot, or make a sale just to survive. That's just me though.

Recty - yeah, these guys have it easy. I did see a fresh catch down by the Kenai a few times. Those other eagles swooped in real fast to try and steal a little something for themselves.

Those are great. You know, in all my years in Alaska, I've only seen eagles pull fish from the water on a very irregular basis.
Most of the eagles I see here just are eating dead fish, they dont go through the work of actually catching a moving one
Oh no these birds are catching real and live fish Shad to be exact. Mississippi Bald Eagles primary diet is American Coots in the Spring and Summer and Fall and Winter their primary diet is Shad. If there is open water thats where the birds will be. Bald Eagles are great scavengers also, they will get road kill and they love pig farms,we see them quite often in the Iowa countryside hanging around pig farms.
