fishing trip and party

So, I'd love to get a group together and do a charter boat from either the south Atlantic or gulf coast. I'll do some research as to boats and bites for each. I think it must be in April or May latest to accommodate all and give the guest of honor time to plan for it.

Theme is semi/mostly-bachelor party. No ladies ;) there wont be any stripper bars unless we get lost and happen to need to ask for directions to our rooms:D. Just manly men fishing, drinking, and playing cards.

I think this is limited to 3 more (plus Randy and I) to accommodate a king cab truck but if needed someone can drive another car to fit the rest, if necessary. Bigger charter boats fit 7 and we could do "party boat" which does +100 people for a lot less money. I figure a private charter will be about $1000-1200 and party boat about $50 each. ***BUT*** there's a totally different experience on a +50' private yacht vs a party boat with 50 other people fishing with you. I hope we can do a private charter...

My thought/plan is leave abt midnight Friday, arrive Sat in time to load on board, fish all day, check into doubles rooms, side-by-side rooms, play cards and drink, wake, and head home to arrive home by late afternoon Sunday.

Anyone interested?

Sounds like a fun trip. I MAY be interested.... not sure what all's going on in April - May though... work usually plans a lot of trips during that. Hard to pass up charter fishing though.

Whoo hoo... Party party... :) Wedding is April 21st... Still trying to figure out when the honeymoon is... But I have to schedule that in the next week or two to before I start getting into my work schedule...

I'm still in (and willing to pay Randy's charter cost)

I've done the usual web searches. Carolinas and Georgia and Panhandle are going to require 1.5-2 hr run time to get out to fishing grounds - Destin probably on the shorter time. These destinations are about 6 hr drive. Should I search further South - Tampa, Daytona? BTW, early April looks good on "what's biting" in the Panhandle, especially with the early Spring we seem to be getting.

here's some of dozens of sites I've looked at but if anyone has other suggestions that's fine too.

Just about ran out of time to do any trips in April... Since I'm already having to take off a couple weeks for the wedding/honeymoon...

If this doesn't pan out, we could always just get together at the lake, form up a red neck yacht club and have a few... lol :D

If we fish on the Atlantic side we can be in the gulfstream quick. In the gulf of Mexico you have to motor for hours to get to the fishing. Sometimes 70 miles.
Further south might be good but is a long drive. Is myrtle beach any good?
Or the closest spot on the Atlantic?

Wilmington is AWESOME for atlantic croaker, spanish mackerel, bluefish, grouper... right off the PIER. We're planning on taking vacation, and a day pass on the pier is only like 8 dollars or something like that.

Great fun, great fishing in May.

This month is impossible for me because of staff taking off and making me work even more!

I'm game for that. Hopefully we can get Dave to break out the fish&ski.
